How it all started

The Sporer family knows first hand how influential a service dog can be on someone’s life.

Greg Sporer

Founder of A Veteran’s Best Friend

38 years of experience specializing in PTSD

With 38 years of experience in the mental health field, Greg specialized in helping active military members and veterans with PTSD. Greg quickly recognized the transformative power of service dogs, which is what started it all. He founded A Veterans Best Friend, a non-profit organization that has successfully introduced over 150 service dogs to people in need.

Nancy Sporer

Teacher for 37 years

As an elementary school teacher, Nancy was already deeply involved with assisting others. After experiencing firsthand the profound impact a service dog had on their daughter, Emma Grace, Nancy made it her mission to assist those who experience obstacles due to chronic illness and pain. Together with Greg, and their united efforts to help those with chronic illness, autism, and PTSD, Saving Grace service dogs was born.

The story of our name

Saving Grace Service Dogs comes from a place within our hearts.

Together, with Nancy’s daughter Emma Grace, we witnessed first hand the impact a service dog can have on someone’s life. Emma was diagnosed with Lyme Disease at a young age, and needed assistance. A service dog had a profound impact on Emma as she grew up. With Greg’s own veterans and military member service dog organization, and our own first hand account of a service dog’s impact, we were inspired to create Saving Grace Service Dogs.

Service dogs allow people to live again, or, be born again. That is why we extend our faith in service dogs to all types of religions and beliefs. We train dogs for people who come from all walks of life, because everyone deserves to live a full, accessible life.

Serving Little Rock, North Little Rock, Maumelle, and all of Arkansas

We help those in Arkansas who face physical and emotional challenges to start living fuller, more accessible lives through the help of service dogs.

Our service dogs can be trained in home and on site alongside their owners in order to handle specific needs pertaining to their individual conditions. Each dog is trained with their owners in order to establish strong bonds, and to learn how to best help support their owners.
